Cobweb art

How to capture a cobweb and preserve it in a picture

What do you need?
  • An abandoned cobweb
  • Hairspray or spray glue
  • Talcum powder
  • Black paper or card

As with any activity, they will need an adult to help them.

  • How many can do this?
  • Will suit what age?
  • How long does the fun last?

A wonderful way to encourage kids to join you on an early morning walk to seek out cobwebs caught in the morning sun.

Step 1
Step 1

Hunt out an abandoned cobweb. Make doubly sure it is abandoned by giving it a good check over to make sure there are no spiders still living there.

Step 2
Step 2

Once you’re sure it’s available, spray it all over with hairspray or spray glue and give it a good dousing in talcum powder.

Step 3
Step 3

Next get your child to hold the black paper underneath the cobweb and spray once more. Finally, use the paper to gently lift your cobweb off and away.

Step 4

Hold flat and leave somewhere to dry. Once dry, put it on your wall and enjoy.
