How to make bubble wands using items from around the house
The simplest things are often the best with small kids. Bubbles never fail to put a smile on faces wherever you go.
Step 1
First of all mix up your homemade bubbly mixture. Simply put 1 litre of cold water in your large bucket and add 70ml washing up liquid and 30ml glycerin. Get the kids to give it a good stir.
Step 2
Next you need to make your homemade bubble wands. Here are few ideas:
Hunt around the house for everyday items that can be given a new lease of life: tennis rackets, fly swats and carpet beaters make fantastic bubble wands for example. The simplest one for small kids is to get a bundle of straws
Get a bundle of straws, tape them securely together and bingo, you have an instant bubble wand. Simply dip in the bubble mixture and encourage the children to blow
You can make a giant bubble wand by threading two straws on a 1m length of string and then tying the string together to make a circle. Get the kids to use the straws as handles, and encourage them to dip their giant wand in the mixture and then drag it about to create some giant bubbles
